Fiery Bride by Cynthia Woolf

Review of Fiery Bride by Cynthia Woolf

A business deal gone awry, a matchmaker without a match, and the cowboy who is determined to change all of that.

Margaret Selby is a woman in demand.  For her services that is.  As a matchmaker, she helps men in the West find brides from the East.  She's helping to provide a dream come true for many of the women who want nothing more than marriage and family.  But not Maggie.  Once was enough, thank you very much, she'll never marry again.

But when one of her brides runs away with another man, she's got no choice but to find a way to make it up to her newly-jilted customer.

Caleb Black is a Colorado rancher with cattle to run and a daughter to raise.  A mail-order bride from back east seemed like a great idea, until he fell for the matchmaker. Corresponding with the feisty proprietress became the highlight of his days, so much so, he was relieved when his intended bride got off the train with another man.

From the moment Maggie stepped off the train, full of apologies and promises of a new bride, Caleb had only one goal--to marry the matchmaker herself.

Fiery Bride, I discovered after finishing it, is actually book three in the Matchmaker and Co. series but I never felt like I'd joined the story in the middle.  It worked great as a stand-alone book and I'm definitely interested in reading the other books in the series as well.

The setting of Golden, Colorado was woven through the book like a beloved character.  Being from ranching country myself, I could all but see acre after acre of hills and wildflowers.

Treat yourself to Fiery Bride, you're in the hands of a talented storyteller and you won't be disappointed.
