Artist and Illustrator Karin Knowlton lives in Victoria BC. She shares her retro apartment with a very large cat named Eli.

Since the late 90's she has run a vintage furniture shop called KAY'S KORNER in Cook Street Village which is a funky little part of Victoria, filled with coffee joints and fun little stores.

"I spend alot of my time searching for second hand treasures to fill my store! In my spare time I draw....a passion that began when I was a kid.I went to Art School...but am primarily self taught.I draw the 'old fashioned way....with a pen and paper!!....WHAT?! I work with pigma ink pens and copic felt markers to add some colour!"

She added, "I think I have a whimsical style with a bit of retro thrown in...I LOVE the graphic illustrators from years ago..40's..50's..60's.The old ads you see in vintage magazines are filled with quirky drawings. Two of my favorite artists are Ronald Searle and Quentin Blake.Check them out..they're so inspiring!"
