Indie Authors: If you do not have a PayPal account for the proceeds from the sale of your book to be deposited into, go and make one before you begin this process please. Send the email address for that account to info@bookstorewithoutborders.com, with the subject line: Payment Information FOR YOUR NAME.

Creating an Author Marketing Homepage

1. Go to www.bookstorewithoutborders.com/members and log in using the username and password provided in this email.
When you sign in, you’ll see that you’ve been redirected to a new section that is organized by tabs.

2. The first step in setting up your author marketing platform begins with clicking the Author tab.  Click on Edit Bio.  You will see your name and email. Under that is where you can add your favourite quote.

3. Next you need to add your biographical information.  Do not paste text directly from a word document.  Instead, click on the clipboard with a W on it (third row of the icon menu) You can paste into that (to paste CTRL+V on a PC, or Command+V on a Mac), then click insert.

4. Your website and email address information is the only part of your contact information that will be made public on the site.

5. Add your contact information, this is for our records only. We will never share your personal information. All of your sensitive information is encrypted with the best systems currently available.

6. Fiction/Non-Fiction selector -- choose the one that describes you best.  It helps us categorize you, you can still list both fiction and non-fiction works.

7. You may choose multiple audiences.

8. Pick the genres that apply best.  You must pick three.  Do not leave one blank. If your genre is not represented, send us an email and we will add it.  The genres you pick can be changed at any time.

9. The SEO (Search Engine Optimization) can be left blank.  This will be filled out later by our SEO marketing specialist in order to get the best search engine results for your page.

10. SAVE BUTTON:  Bottom left corner. Don’t forget to save!

11. From the four links under the Author Tab, click on Edit Bio Picture.

12. Please select a bio image (jpg only, max 2MB).

13. Once your image has uploaded please click on the large picture, holding your mouse down, and drag to form a box. Once you see your image in the cropper how you want it to appear on the site, hit the button, Crop Image.

14. You have now set up your biography and added your bio photo and are now ready to add your ebooks. You can edit your bio and pictures at any time.

Adding Your eBooks

1. From the four links under the Author Tab, click Add eBook.

2. Go to Cover Picture and upload your ebook cover image.  (jpg, max 2MB)

3. Fill out information in the Titles box, then CLICK THE GENERATE BUTTON. This will create a web title. * This is very important. Your web title can only have lower case letters, a hyphen or numbers, which clicking the generate button will automatically do for you.

4. If you would like your book to randomly display on the front page of the Bookstore Without Borders site in the Top Reads slot, check the Featured book box.

5. Fill out all of the information boxes about your book.  If you leave a spot blank, it just won’t show up on the site.  You MUST add your publication date . (year/month/day or use the calendar to make selection.)

6. In the Categories/Genre/Audience box, please check the appropriate boxes.  All books need to be categorized in three genres.  YOU MUST HAVE THREE GENRES SELECTED OR YOUR BOOK WON'T SHOW UP ON THE WEBSITE.  If your genre isn’t listed, email us and we can add it. (Note if you selected three genres on your biography page they will show up here as defaults, you can change them as you require for each book)

7. When inputting your prices, retail is generally the Suggested Retail Price.  Ie) Retail $12.99, Fair Trade price (eBook price) $4.99.  We do not offer free books on our site, so zero is not a valid price.  We recommend a price $0.99 or over. You MUST enter both prices OR YOUR BOOK WILL NOT SHOW UP ON THE WEBSITE.

8. Tag Line: This is a section for your tag-line, one-sentence hook or log line.

9. Description is where you should add the back cover copy from your book. (Remember: Do not paste text directly from a word document.  Instead, click on the clipboard with a W on it from the icons. You can paste into that (to paste CTRL+V on a PC, or Command+V on a Mac), then click insert.)

10. Excerpt is where you can add sample chapter of your book.  Again, use the clipboard with the W on it from the icons to insert text from a word document.

11. Click Save eBook.

12. You will get a ‘Your eBook Has Been Saved’ message.

13. Now it’s time to add your eBook files.  Click List eBooks.  Find the eBook you just created and click Edit Book.

14. We are able to list your book in any eBook file.  We recommend that you upload your eBook in the following file formats *.azw3,*.doc,*.docx,*.epub,*.mobi,*.pdf,*.rtf,*.txt,*.fb2,*.htmlz,*.lit,*   Or at the very least: *.epub, *.azw3, *.mobi, *.lit, *.pdf you can add multiple files at the same time.

15. When your files are uploaded, you don’t have to worry about security.  All of our eBook files are immediately encrypted in a 256-bit key encryption and they are stored in a non web-accessible server.

16. Click on Save eBook at the bottom of the screen and it’s official, you’ve got your eBook for sale on Bookstore Without Borders!
 Please repeat this process for any other eBooks you would like to upload on the site.
