Bookstore Without Borders recently caught up with Renee Andrews, last year's Lyra Contest Grand Prize Winner.  With the entries for the 2014 Lyra Contest streaming in, we thought it would be a good opportunity for people to meet this great author and see what she's been up to since her book Profiled took our top prize!

Welcome Renee,

Your book Profiled was the 2013 Lyra contest winner. Can you tell us a little about the story?

Profiled is an inspirational suspense about a killer with a warped sense of religion and the two women determined to make him pay for the murder that ruined their lives:

When your life begins with murder, learning who to trust can be deadly.

A killer with a twisted view of religion is counting the days, forty days and forty nights, and counting the murders, seven women every seven years. But he doesn’t realize two determined women are counting the days too, the days until they have vengeance…and the hunter becomes the hunted.

Every seven years, seven women die. All blonde, all single, all pregnant. But the intriguing profiler knows more than she reveals, and the savvy TV correspondent has seen his face. Now two women with secret pasts make one vow: to stop a killer.

What was it like learning that your book had won the Lyra grand prize?

I couldn’t believe it!  I was so excited and thrilled!  After getting the news that I won, I called my husband and squealed…then we went out to dinner to celebrate.

Was entering the 2013 Lyra contest a good experience for you? Why?

It was an amazing experience.  I was so happy to find a contest offered for independently published books and am very glad I entered Profiled.   With so many self-published books on the market and so few contests allowed for self-published work, it’s difficult to show that your book holds merit.  The Lyra contest fills that void, and I truly appreciate Bookstore without Borders providing that opportunity to authors.

Tell us about your new release.

My newest release is Mondays with Jesus 2015, a devotional that provides a powerful beginning for each week of 2015 that can easily apply to your own life and personal walk with the Lord. It’s available at all bookstores online, and autographed copies are available at www.MondayswithJesus.com

Tell us a little bit about your next fiction project.

Hunted, the sequel to Profiled, is scheduled for release in early 2015.  I’m very excited about continuing Angel Jackson’s story and am thrilled that readers seem as excited as I am to learn what happens next!

Thanks so much for being with us today Renee, and once again congratulations on your 2013 Lyra win!
