I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa, the daughter of a reserved computer programmer and a volatile journalist. Yes, you’ve got it. Interesting and a little challenging.

I have written for as long as I can remember, mainly to entertain my friends, with the occasional poem, article or short story getting published - when I put my mind to it - - but once I started working in demanding jobs, ranging from medical to computer programming, I lacked time for this passion. I only realized recently what a mistake that was.

I only have to look at the three years we lived in Maputo, Mozambique, just after the war.  People inland were still avoiding landmines and ducking RPG rounds. Many commodities and services simply weren’t available. Books could only be obtained by asking someone to bring them from South Africa. I was considerably more revered for the stories I wrote than for my work in the medical field. In retrospect, it makes sense. What is the point in saving the body if the soul is dying?

As ideas occurred to me, I have been writing the stories around them, with the result that I have several books only awaiting editing. Since I have decided to start publishing, you can find me living in a quiet corner of my hometown with my placid children and a mute cat, quietly planning or editing another book.

'People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.'
