I grew up in a small midwestern town in the middle of America, like the one described in my short coming-of-age story, Lightning Strikes. Served in VISTA, the domestic Peace Corps, attended law school and a theological seminary before working as a community organizer in New York City and managing housing in some of New York's toughest neighborhoods -- places like the South Bronx, Bed-Stuy, and East New York. More recently I ran a couple of small, start-up companies before becoming disenchanted with what I was doing. I decided to put myself to the test and get serious about writing. I have now published two books -- Lightning Strikes, a short story told through the eyes of a 12-year old boy and set in the 1950's, and a second full-length novel called No More Illusions...A Mystery. Lightning Strikes is appropriate for readers from 12 to 100; the novel for adults 17+. Kirkus Reviews, IndieReader, and the San Francisco Book Review have all given NMI high praise (reviews are posted on-line & on my Amazon author page).
