Dr. Barry Nadel was born in San Antonio, Texas, but grew up in San Jose, California before it was Silicon Valley. He started his college career in Anthropology and Archaeology for two years and then switched to UC Davis and finished his B.Sc. in Viticulture and Enology. He continued there to do his M.Sc. in grape breeding. In Aug. 1977 Dr. Nadel immigrated to Israel to do his Ph.D. in plant genetics which he recieved in July 1981 from the Hebrew University Faculity of Agriculture.

Dr. Nadel is both divorced and a widower. In 2002 he remarried Hadassah. She was the love of his life and she died in his arms trying to give her CPR. She died at the age of 42 riddled with cancer. They were married only 29 months. He has 3 daughters and one son, 4 grandsons and 5 granddaughters.

Barry served in the IDF in the Artillery Corps and served in the first Lebanon War. He spent 13 years in reserve duty. In 1993 he and his family moved to his current address in Moshav Kfar Pines.From 2002 until 2012 he was a full-time volunteer to the Border Police responsible for the security of his farming village.

In 1985 Dr. Nadel worked as a research at the Faculty of agriculture as a plant physiologists and specialist in plant tissue culture for 6 years. He then started his own vegetable seed company Agecotec Ltd. which lasted for 23 years. He now works for Shmaya Ltd the R and D branch of Breath of Life a sanctioned medicinal Cannabis grower in Israel. He is their Chief Scientist and responsible for the breeding program.

Dr. Nadel has been writing fiction for 23 years and only decided to publish last year. Much of his writing have been inspired by his experiences and great love for his late wife, Hadassah.
